On the afternoon of June 23, the opening ceremony of the 2018 Seminar on the Belt and Road Infrastructure Construction for International Talents and the Lu Ban School was held in the Lecture Hall of Shanghai Construction Engineering School. This Seminar has carried out in-depth school-enterprise cooperation with Guanglianda Technology Company Limited, and has made new breakthroughs in the enrollment cooperation and learning model. The Seminar lasted for 15 days, and involved on-site teaching and practical training in Shanghai, Xi’an and Beijing. There were a total of 26 participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and Hong Kong, China.

Zhao Jian (the deputy director of the Higher Education Department of Shanghai Education Commission), Ma Xiuming, (the deputy director of the Education Bureau of Minhang District), Ye Yinzhong (the president of SUCC), Yang Xiufang (the vice president of SUCC, and the former president of Shanghai Construction Engineering School), He Guang (the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of SUCC and the party secretary of Shanghai Construction Engineering School), Liu Qingni (the vice president of Guanglianda Technology) and other relevant leaders from Shanghai Construction Vocational Education Group, Minhang Vocational Education Group and Shanghai Construction Group attended the opening ceremony.

Ye Yinzhong delivered a welcome speech and wished the Seminar a smooth and successful course. The relevant leaders of other organizers and Malaysian student Mohd Harris made speeches respectively.

In order to continuously explore international exchanges and cooperation in construction vocational education, to better cooperate with Chinese construction enterprises to “go out” and to enrich the curriculum content of the Seminar on the Belt and Road Infrastructure Construction for International Talents, the Seminar has established the “Lu Ban School” after the name of the originator of Chinese construction industry (Lu Ban) to share excellent Chinese cultures and Chinese standards with the world through the four modules – Lu Ban Culture, Lu Ban Standard, Lu Ban Skill and Lu Ban  Intelligent Production.

At the ceremony, Ye Yinzhong and other relevant leaders jointly unveiled the nameplate of the “Lu Ban School”.

Finally, Zhao Jian made a concluding speech. On behalf of the Shanghai Education Commission, he expressed high praise and gratitude to the organizers, undertakers, support units and staff who worked hard for the Seminar. He pointed out that the Seminar was organized in accordance with the basic national policy of General Secretary Xi Jinping in the Report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China--“China adheres to opening up to the outside world and insists on opening the country for construction” and that the Seminar showed that Shanghai’s vocational education in recent years just followed the spirits instructed by General Secretary Xi Jinping, further promoted the reform of education and teaching, and continuously deepened the system and mechanism for production-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation.
